Before photography and kids, my life was music. I majored in music in college, ending up with a Masters in Music Education. I had thousands of memories during those college years, and this guy was part of many of them.

 In fact when I walked in he showed me a bunch of photos from A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, which we were both in, and I was immediately transported back. SUCH a fun time. So when he called saying his whole family would be in town for his FIFTIETH birthday, I was pretty excited to meet some of the family I had heard so much about all these years.

 Somehow he failed to mention just how awesome his mom is. 

 

Because really, she is AWESOME. 

 

And now I can see where he got his love of laughter and his ability to make people laugh. What a wonderful gift. 

And do you know what else is a wonderful gift? Twenty years. Here's to 20+ more, Mark and Jim. Happy Anniversary (and Happy Birthday Mark!!)

Had such a fun shoot with Olivia last week-one shot after another just coming together exactly right, with her just knowing exactly where I wanted to go next. She is just such a classic beauty.

I believe this is one of those, OK DON'T smile at the camera moments where you just cannot wipe the grin off your face no matter what. LOVE it.

Live for today...what a wonderful mantra (and very, very cool shoes.)

This one was my favorite...see what I mean? Just classic. The dress, the pearls, the look, the Queen Anne's Lace, just perfect.

Once upon a time there was a girl.

 And there was a boy.

The met over food, at culinary school to be exact. And fell in love.

And this boy and this girl are now getting married. 

Did I mention they are in loooooove? :)

It was a lovely day to get married, and a lovely couple as well. Remember the wedding back in October? Well now it was daughter's turn.

The dress was beautiful

Gorgeous beading from Doreen Leaf Designs-the very place I got my own wedding dress.

And the flowers were perfect

And so was the jewelry.

It really was a beautiful day all around. I'm so glad I got to share it with them!

It was three long years ago when I met these kids (oh how I love my repeat clients) and I am totally shocked every time I see them. So much bigger/grown up/older. People tell me all the time "It goes so fast, make sure you really enjoy the moment." Trust me, I believe it.

Seriously, don't you just LOVE those big brown eyes? They ALL have the most gorgeous big brown eyes. *sigh*

And I think they all keep Mama very, very busy :)

Kent, Ohio | Family | Laugh and be merry

I feel like my kids are growing up too fast. Kid one on her way to second grade, kid two already done with his first year of preschool, and kid three, turning into less of a baby and more into a toddler every day. But I was just talking to a friend-what if we could know. What if we could go into the future, just for a moment and know that everything will be OK, they will actually be friends, they will joke, and laugh, and dream very big...like this family.

She is making a big move soon. Which I think will be hard on the Mom and Dad, and this one, girl two.

They are best friends and sorority sisters and real sisters. And they looooove each other.  Yes, girl one, I think you will be missed.

I am a list maker. I have entire notebooks that have nothing but lists. I love lists-things to do, grocery, Target, honey-do, things to bring on vacation; I have them all going right now. So when Jen turns up with a list of all her outfits-complete with what shoes, earrings, and belt to wear, well it is going to be a match made in heaven.

This was our very first shot. Yes, I knew right away this was going to be a fun one.

I love love love these purple and white wild flowers that were all over this spring. Anyone know what they are? I would love to plant some in my yard-just so pretty.

Did you notice her shoes? She had the BEST SHOES all shoot. Just wait, you will see...

Yup, I want that pair too! And again, love those flowers.

I think she looks like some cool PR maven going off to work in New York, don't you?
Oh and wait for it, here they come, THE SHOES.
